SQL Programming ... 4 days

Essentials for using Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, and other leading databases

Structured Query Language (SQL) is the standard for accessing data in relational databases. Now, in just four days, you can become fluent in this indispensable language. Our training emphasizes the use of SQL to solve nontrivial business problems by ‘thinking in SQL.’ Our strategy is to teach syntax early and then concentrate on applying SQL to business questions.

Creative Data’s SQL Programming class includes a suite of hands-on lab exercises that reinforce the concepts and technology. You learn from professionals with real-world experience developing and enhancing applications using SQL. You work at your own computer connected to a relational database.

At the completion of the labs, you’ll have worked with all the major concepts and tools of SQL. You’ll leave the course able to use SQL to generate business intelligence as you retrieve data, create queries, generate reports, and program applications.

Course Topics
• The nonprocedural nature of SQL - Getting used to it!
• Simple queries - THE SELECT statement
• Data types
• Expressions
• Row filters - The WHERE clause
• Joins - Inner and outer
• Subqueries
• Aggregation - The GROUP BY clause
• Advanced and complex queries
• Stored procedures and temporary tables
